Matthew 5:33-37
Do not break your oath, but fulfill to the Lord the vows you have made. Do not swear an oath at all…all you need to say is simply “Yes” or “No.”
Christ’s command is specific- God is trustworthy, and we need to be trustworthy, too.
The command is simple- a simple ‘yes’ or ‘no’…then keep your word
The command establishes the integrity of the church. It is our witness to the world.
