sermon: God’s Upside Down Way of Thinking

(Matthew 16:21-28)
Jesus told his followers that “whoever wants to save their life must lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it”
It doesn’t make much sense to us in this world of ours, but God spoke through the prophet Isaiah hundreds of years before that, “My thoughts are not your thoughts. Neither are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.(Isaiah 55:8)
God’s knowledge is complete, His wisdom is perfect, and He is all-powerful to accomplish his will.
What we think of as power is actually weakness. What we think of as wealth is liability. And what we think of as wisdom is foolishness.
